7 DAYS MASAI MARA MIGRATION SAFARI 2019 - JOIN IN GROUP TOUR (EX- NAIROBI)

Weather

Being close to the equator, one can expect the Kenyan ground to be sunshined most amount of times. It is sunny most of the time, dry however not too hot for most of the year.

Rainy Season: March till May and November till December

Central Kenya is situated on a plateau and the altitude keeps the heat index at a comfortable level making the park safaris in Kenya a great delight for most parts of the year.

The coastal areas are relatively higher in temperature and however the sea breeze from the Indian Ocean on the coasts of Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi make it comfortable.

At Mount Kenya there is permanent snow. Western Kenya, being a little far off the sea and lying in central Africa is generally hot and humid.

OPTIONAL MASAI MARA HOT AIR BALLOON SAFARI CAN BE TAKEN ON THESE TWO DAYS

5:00 AM: We will pick you up from your Camp in Masai Mara and transfer you to our launch site near Masai Kopjes. Here you will meet your pilot for Masai Mara hot air balloon safari, receive a briefing and watch the inflation of your balloon.

At dawn Masai Mara hot air balloon will take off, rising as the sun rises and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take us. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. At other times he will ascend to 1000' or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Masai Mara. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful whisper burners. In between these burns, there is silence apart from the natural sounds below

The Masai Mara hot air balloon safari flight is for about one hour depending on conditions, on landing you celebrate in the traditional manner with champagne (well, an excellent sparkling wine), before sitting down to a full English breakfast prepared and served in the bush in 'Out of Africa' style with bone china, linen table cloths, King's silver etc. After breakfast you receive your Masai Mara hot air balloon safari certificate and we continue with rest of the game drive in your safari vehicle. Later return to your camp to continue with game drives in your safari vehicle.

Spend two full days enjoying Morning / Afternoon game drives or Full day game drives within the extensive and beautiful Mara reserve looking out for the big five with all meals being served at the lodge. You will guided by the expert driver guides to spot the Great Migration & the big five game among other like, Thomson’s and Grant's gazelle, Topi and Eland and many more species of plains' game offer a rich choice of food for the dominant predators; lion, leopard and cheetah which hunt in this pristine wilderness. In the Mara River, hippo submerges at the approach of a vehicle only to surface seconds later to snort and grumble their displeasure. Seemingly, the drowsy crocodile sunbathe on the riverbanks, mouth agape, and waiting with subtle cunning for prey at which to strike with lightning swiftness.

The reserve is home to all the “big five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal, Cheetah, and the rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles.
